what is animal crossing?
Animal Crossing is a simulation video game series published by Nintendo. Although there is not an exact goal to be met, throughout all the major releases, gameplay consists of you, the player (a human), collecting bells (the in-game currency) to pay off your mortgage for the house you live in.
There are many interactive NPC villagers in the game of varying species, each with a unique personality. Only a set amount of villagers can live in your town at a time, so the residents of your town change frequently.
There's many other things to pursue in Animal Crossing as well, such as donating insects, fish, fossils, and works of art to the museum, operated by owl Blathers and his sister Celeste. Most of the critters are only available to be caught in a specific time of the day or the year, so donating 1 of every creature in AC is quite a feat!
in recent versions of the game (New Leaf and New Horizons), you are assumed the role of mayor in your town and thus have the ability to move buildings, construct public works projects, and many other such powers that a mayor would have. It's fun to take care of your town!

^ my favorite villagers ^
Walker \
Walker is a lazy dog villager first introduced in Dōbutsu no Mori e+. My first ever interaction with him was in AC:WW, when he moved into my town. Sadly since then he has moved, but during the time he was in my town, he was my favorite to talk to. Such a well designed fellow :]
bunnie %
Bunnie is a peppy rabbit villager first introduced in Dōbutsu no Mori. As of 12/4/24, she still lives in my Wild World town. When she first moved into my town, she was sick, and so I had to give her medicine for her to feel all better. Since then, she has been one of my favorite villagers to talk to since we just get along so well. She constantly asks me for pink furniture, for some reason. It girl
Nan ^
Nan is a normal goat villager who first debuted in Dōbutsu no Mori e+. She is currently a villager in my New Leaf town, and she was the first villager who invited me to her house. The interior of her house is very elegant, which I find suits her :]. Also I find it funny that she calls me "kid." because goat
Ruby \
Ruby is a peppy rabbit villager who first appeared in Wild World. She is currently a villager in my New Leaf town. I really love her space-themed interior of her house, which is actually a reference to her Japanese name Luna (based off of the mythical figure of the Moon Rabbit in East Asian folklore.) Also her face is literally o.o
aurora!
Aurora is a normal penguin villager first introduced in Dōbutsu no Mori e+, and the first villager I interacted with, ever. She was in my Wild World town, and was very nice to me (her catchphrase "b-b-baby" kind of reminded me of my mami, which is probably why I grew so attatched to her.) The first time she said she was moving away, I tried my best to make her stay -- and she did! I wasn't ready to say goodbye to my first and favorite villager yet. But not long after, she had decided to move again, so I let her. It made me very sad but I realized that saying goodbye to the people (or ones and zeros) you love is going to happen one day. Or something. Deep
